Food & Nutrition Services

The Troy School District Nutrition Services, contracted through Chartwells, provides students with delicious, high quality, nutrient-rich meals to support learning.  Educating palates, inspiring culinary curiosity and nourishing the health of the community through school meals is our priority.

Breakfast is served at all elementary and preschools, and is available every school day, including half days until the first bell.
 

A full student lunch consists of 5 components; Protein, Grain, Vegetable, Fruit and a choice of Milk. Milk choice include 1% White and 1% Chocolate.   * Menu subject to change.

Calling ALL Student Chefs

We are hosting our 3rd Annual Cook Off on Thursday, April 23rd at Athens High School.

SUBMISSIONS PERIOD

The Cook Off applications are due by February 9th.
Contestants will be announced by February 13th
 

HOW TO ENTER

Fill out and return the registration form during the submission period and return it to Nicole Gervais at ngervais@troy.k12.mi.us or turn it in to your
school’s kitchen staff. Copies are available in each school’s kitchen and on the TSD Food Service Department website.

 

WHAT IS THE DISCOVERY KITCHEN COOK OFF?

  • This is a Middle School Student competition.
  • Registration is free.
  • Each team must submit one recipe based on their favorite cultural dish.
  • Teams will be limited to 3-4 students per group.
  • Only 8 teams will be selected to compete. .
  • Each team will have 1 hour and 30 minutes to prepare.
  • Each team will be provided with the necessary ingredients and tools to prepare and serve their dish.
  • The participant must maintain health standards when handling food.
  • Participants will be judged on taste, visual appearance, teamwork and following instructions.
  • There will be awards for first & second place.
  • The decision of the judges is final.
